Google Launches Video Units for Adsense Publishers

Ryan Hayward – AdSense Product Marketing announced recently that google is now offering video units where in you can make extra revenue by placing adverts on your website. you can place the ads by placing video’s on your website and revenue starts instantly. Google offers you with relevant ads on your web site just above the you tube video’s placed on your websites but again i personally feel this is a google’s trick to maximise usage of youtube video’s on all over the internet’s websites. Though they currently offer publishers with extra revenue but this revenue originally comes from the advertisers, and this shows how google intelligently starts another product which gives them the most benefit.

Check out the following video which shows complete information on this google adsense video units and how to get started with them.

Video units will be live in AdSense accounts later today (10/9). Currently this feature is open only to publishers located in the United States with English-language websites.

Ways to Find the Best Franchise Opportunities

These days, a lot of people may realize how beneficial a franchise business is for them. This is because they can start their business with the help of their mother companies or the primary franchise company. With this, they have the utmost confidence in managing the business than if they will start their business on their own.

But even if a person chooses to get business franchise, the primary problem that they face is how to find the business option for them. They do not really know how and where to find the business that will suit them. With this, the following are the ways for a person to find the right business franchise opportunities.

The first and very simple way of looking for business franchise is through the internet. If you will search the internet, you will find all the potential business franchises for you. Aside from the business itself, you may want to check the business ranking in the market. With this, you can be sure that the franchise that you will get is competitive in the market in order for you to earn the income that you want. However, it is important for you not to choose just any websites in getting these business names and rankings. You have to find a reliable website focusing on businesses so you will have the most reliable rankings and avoid being lured by fake claims. The good thing about these websites is that they even provide the amount of franchise amount to pay upfront.

The other way for you to find the right business franchise is to check on business sectors within your area. In this way, you will be able to get the franchise businesses offered in your location and try to get information about them as much as possible. You may also ask some statistic about the business and gain a lot of information about the business and use them to your advantage.

Finally, you may want to check a number of businesses on your own. If you will notice, there are a number of businesses found in the area that has the same brand. This is very indicative of the business to be in the franchising world so you may want to check the stores and see if they have advertisements about the business being on franchise. If they do, you may want to get their contact numbers and then ask them for the franchise costs.

In getting the right business franchise, it is important for you to get the right business brand in order to get you the best and reliable companies that will help you get the income that you would like to have for your business. In this way, it is very much possible for you to find the right business brand and start to be successful in your aim of getting the best income that you want and even use your profit in other business ventures that you may want to explore in the future.

AdSense for Mobile Review Information

Google has just extended its Adsense network and added Adsense for mobile, which can help publishers to expand to new online content platform.

What is Adsense ?

Adsense allows website to allocate space for Google, which provides relevant text ads and then splits the revenue those adverts generate with the mobile site owner and Google. The share revenue details are not currently available outside the trial. Mobile Adsense is similar to the desktop part, but various new rules of account for mobile restriction on layout and content.

How does it work?

Adsense MobileThe website using the ads, must be written in proper mobile markup languages (WML – WAP 1.0, xHTML – WAP 2.0, cHTML – iMode) and with server side scripting like php and asp. How does the product behave? If you have an existing website optimized for mobile browsers or are creating one, you have a option to monetize with Adsense and a growing number of mobile advertisers.

The system reviews the Adsense for Mobile Ad Samplecontent on the site and delivers relevant text ads, the publisher earns each time a visitor clicks the ad. Package Forwarding & Reshipping Job or Scam?

Package Forwarding & ReShipping Job or Scam pic

Seems like for every person that seeks legitimate work at home opportunities there are thousands or more that want to scam them out of their hard earned money.

Unfortunately this is the reality of the situation that we must face and deal with. We take this very seriously on our blog. With the economy being in the state it is, None of us can afford to be investing money in scams when there are actually legitimate career options such as Medical Transcription, Being an Affiliate, etc.

Recently we’ve had an onslaught of positive comments and thanks from many of you who were able to avoid scams such as wire transfer and check cashing because of articles you read here.

So with that in mind I just want to introduce yet another scam to avoid.  By the way, this is a real scam. This isn’t one of the cases where you tried a work at home opportunity and couldn’t make money so now you’re calling it a scam. This isn’t one of those misrepresenting rebate processing, typing, data entry or survey lists. The following scam is the type that will not only lose you money but you may also end up losing your freedom. So listen up!

So what is Package Forwarding or Re-shipping Work At Home Opportunity?

Unfortunately, it’s not working at home for UPS, FED EX, DHL or the USPS shipping packages. This so called opportunity is more like a variation of wire transfers or check cashing scams. It’s no surprise that the scam artist wouldn’t deviate much from other successful scams. After all, “if it ain’t broke, why fix it?”.  But from time to time they make some slight variations to see if they can sucker even more people like us.

So here’s how it works in a nutshell. Re-shipping also known as “package forwarding” usually starts with an emailed job offer. Just like the common Nigerian scam, these so called “employers” offer up phony contracts and other documentation to make them appear legitimate.  They may even reference legitimate company names and physical address in their emails (like Microsoft or some other major company you already trust.) Once they have lured you into a sense of security, the packages are shipped to your home at no cost to you. You are provided with instructions to reship the packages to another address (Usually a P.O. box) Once you have reshipped the package you report back to the company so you can get your check.

Sounds good, right? You just need to sit there and wait for your check now. But guess what? It’s not a check that arrives at you door. Instead it’s your local boys in blue (POLICE) or if you’re really lucky, the feds (F.B.I.). And what they’re bringing you is a one way ticket to “club fed” aka prison, jail, the slammer, etc. You’re now considered an accessory to a crime and may be even found “guilty” of receiving and shipping stolen property.

Identity Theft With A Twist Of Lime…

Most of us have heard about identity theft. Usually the victim is one person whose identity has been stolen. However no one really talks about another element of it which comes into play with today’s scam. Reshipping or package forwarding schemes actually double the adverse effects of identity theft. It creates two victims, the person whose identity has been stolen and a person who becomes a package forwarder or re-shipper. The reason is that when you re-ship these packages on behalf of these so called legit companies, you’re actually shipping stolen merchandise to the real criminals who stole someone’s identity. Now when criminals commit identity theft or credit card schemes, they know not to ship the stolen goods to their homes. It’s a really dumb way to get caught. So this re-shipping “job” was hatched to easily move stolen goods using us as a unknowing  mules. This is also the reason they tell you to ship to a p.o. box. This way they can’t be traced when you finally realize you’ve been punked. Except no one is laughing when everything has been figured out.

    So What Should You Do?

Isn’t it obvious by now? Don’t fall for it! It’s NOT a job and may cause an unwanted visit by the boys in blue. But if you have already fallen victim to this, you may want to be proactive and report all the details below so others can avoid it. Include any emails, names, addresses, etc. The more information you can provide, the better it will be. This way when people do a search online, this article will come up and help others avoid this scam!

The only forwarding you should be doing is sharing a good joke or an informative article like this one. So the moral of this story is to do your research! You don’t need me to figure out what companies are scams, just follow the steps in our scam video by clicking here. You’ll know just as much as I do. I’m not some magical scam guru, I just do my research using the techniques in the video and you can too!

Hopefully we saved many more of you from becoming another victim of this twist on identity theft. I’ll say it again for good measure, don’t get involved in something like this. I don’t care if they said Jesus thought it was a good idea. It’s not! You’ve been warned!

If you’re looking fo traditional jobs, try visiting our jobs page. If you’re looking for our personal recommendations of ways to make money quicker than waiting for a traditional job and want more advice, visit our articles page.

A year or two ago I saw an ad for a financial based work at home opportunity that sounded very promising. The opportunity was free and listed specific requirements and had a very professional looking website. All these are usually signs of a valid work at home job. The “job” was to accept checks on behalf of international clients who for some reason weren’t able to cash these checks in their location. In return I would be provided a portion of the check like a check cashing fee. At first glance this just didn’t seem to make sense to me.

But I guess because I was so desperate to find a work at home opportunity I decided to visit their website for more details.  I was very impressed on how professional looking the website was and they even had documentation showing that they were part of some consumer protection agency and some other official agencies. So as a result of this I decided to bite. They asked me to fill out some paperwork on their website and then I had to fax my driver’s license to the company for verification purposes.

This all sounded very legitimate to me at this point. But still something nagged me about it all. So I sent an email letting these guys know that I run a very big work at home website and that if this was legitimate I would be happy to share the information with others. I think that may have been my saving grace. After I faxed over my information and sent my email. I never heard back from the company. That lead me to believe something must be wrong.

But a few weeks passed and the experience was forgotten. I come home one day and there was a message from my local police department asking me to come in. Needless to say I was terrified.

I’m a black male so I have a natural distrust of police because of my own experiences as a youth of being unfairly targeted and searched on numerous occasions. But I knew I didn’t do anything wrong so I called the detective back and he asked if I would come to the precinct. So despite my innocence I was still very nervous so I decided to bring my wife to calm my nerves. The detective was very friendly and nice. He asked if I ever heard of said company (I don’t remember the name of it because of my “mad cow” affliction. lol) And I said yes, I do. I explained that I found them online and had applied to work from them but never heard back from them when I mentioned I ran a major work at home website. The detective explained to me that they and several law enforcement agencies all across the country had been investigating this company and had raided their offices recently. Apparently the opportunity was a big scam and they must have received a lot of complaints about this fraud opportunity which lead to this massive investigation. I asked the detective how he knew to contact me. He said they had found my faxed driver’s license and many others.  So they were all contacting the various victims to piece together any other missing information or people that may have been part of the scam. Needless to say I was very happy that they told me about this.

Fortunately for me I never received any checks to cash for this company so I wasn’t in any trouble with the cops or my bank.  But it was a great learning experience for me. If I followed the steps listed in my scam section, I probably would’ve avoided this whole ordeal. Fortunately for me I lost nothing. But thousands aren’t as fortunate. Many end up being in serious trouble with their banks where they have to pay back large amounts of money and some have also had their identity stolen. I was very lucky to say the least.

Fake checks and wire scams must be a huge problem because apparently some people have taken noticed and created the website FakeChecks.org. I came across this scam prevention website on some commercials here in New York. They really cover how this scam works, what you can do and also provide some other insight on other scams. So please be sure to check out FakeChecks.org

They have some great content and videos. You can actually see some of the commercials there. Watching the commercials really brings home how the internet can distort common sense real world judgment.

FakeChecks.org is a must in your scam prevention tactics.

Are All Typing & Data Entry “Jobs” a Scam?

Many of you are looking for legitimate data entry and/or typing work at home opportunities. The fact of the matter is that these jobs aren’t in high demand, period! Yeah I know it’s not what you want to hear. But the truth hurts & will set you free.

    History 101

A few decades ago, typewriters were all the rage & so were 8 tracks but I digress.Typewriters were specialized tools that only skilled people knew how to use. So typing and data entry jobs were in great demand. Fast forward to the 21 century and computers are common place. They’re everywhere and used by everyone. So most people can type or enter data on their own. This has basically brought traditional typing and data entry jobs to the verge of extinction. So with this in mind, you should always be skeptical anytime a work at home product, service or site claims that they have boat loads of “typing” or “data entry” jobs that they’ll provide to you for whatever fee they make up (usually $29.95 – $44.95).

    Play on words…

Scam artists & shady marketers lure people into these so called opportunities because the words typing & data entry are fluid terms. If I write an email, ad or an article, guess what? I’m using a keyboard to “type” it.  Sites like My-Data-Team.com and nearly EVERY other data entry or typing sites are using the fluidity of these words to lure you into buying their misrepresented products or services! When they reference that they have thousands of companies that will pay you to “type”. They’re basically trying to hoodwink you into affiliate/internet marketing.

    Introducing….

Look, affiliate & internet marketing are great careers that can earn you thousands of dollars per month. I know from first hand experience & have been fortunate enough to be very successful at it for years. However just because a few bad apples misrepresent this opportunity doesn’t mean it’s a shady profession. So does affiliate/internet marketing involve typing?  Well yes there is “typing” involved in the purest sense of the word. But it’s not the traditional typing or data entry you have in mind. You don’t just earn thousands of dollars just for typing ads for companies! If it were that easy, wouldn’t everyone be doing it? Why are people leaving the comfort of their homes and children to work for “the man” if it were that easy? Well it’s because it “ain’t” that simple as My-Data-Team.com (or insert any other data entry/typing website here) would have you believe.

    No guarantees in life…

Affiliate / Internet marketing requires training, hard work, dedication & an unwavering willingness to succeed. The pay off can be thousands of dollars or more! But there is no guarantee that it’s going to happen over night, next week, a month from now and some cases maybe not even a year from now. Anyone GUARANTEEING that you’ll make hundreds or thousands of dollars with typing, data entry or affiliate marketing within a certain time frame is just out to get your money!

Let me bring this point home for you with an analogy. I can teach you how to fish and even bring you to a lake. But I can’t guarantee you’ll catch a fish. Why? There are too many factors that I can’t control. Are the fish biting? Are you using the right bait? Is it the right time of day? Etc, etc. Even if I can control for all those factors, I can’t guarantee that you’re going to catch a whopper.

Just in case you haven’t noticed, I’m not a fisher. But the analogy still holds true when it comes to affiliate marketing and the scum that are misrepresenting it to you. Most of you will fail at it because you’re going to be peeved that you were tricked in to it. Once you’ve realize what the “typing” really is, you’ll give up and move on. And no one can blame you.

    Don’t do it!

So what’s the point of all this babbling? It’s simple, avoid paying for any of these data entry or typing websites! Repeat after me, AVOID PAYING FOR ANY DATA ENTRY OR TYPING WEBSITE! No my caps lock isn’t broken! I’m literally shouting at you. But Eddy, what about (Enter website address here), Is it a scam too?

    Is this thing on?

Do yourself a favor & go back to the start of this article and read it again! If it’s promising to provide you with lots of companies that will pay you for data entry or typing, is being elusive about what the typing or data entry will be, promises to make you hundreds or thousands of dollars within a week or month, and/or charges you a fee to access this job so they can teach you the ropes, then just leave the page! It’s that simple. If it smells, walks or talks like what I’ve described on this page, then keep it moving and save your money! Unless you want to be taught affiliate marketing by someone that is trying to hide this from you.

    Is there no hope?

Now some of you may still be interested in affiliate marketing and that’s great. If you feel like you have what it takes and willing to invest the time and energy into your career, then my personal recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate. If you have no idea what affiliate marketing is, just click here to read my story about it and how it’s help me support my family and be free of lay offs, a bad economy and idiot bosses.

For those of you that are more inclined to “work for the man” & have them decide how much you’re worth, there are a few companies that do offer traditional typing & data entry jobs. But you’ll be on a very long waiting list. So keep that in mind. You can find such companies by visiting our work at home companies page by clicking here. Amazon also has some work at home data entry & typing opportunities via their Mechanical Turk program, click here to learn more about. Folks that live outside the U.S. should visit our international work at home page by clicking here.

I would be remiss if I did not mention Medical Transcription which is a typing job that requires some highly specialized skills. From my experience they tend to be available in great numbers. We seem to find endless availability for these jobs in our search for work at home. You can read more about Medical Transcription by clicking here.

So there you have it, data entry & typing scams revealed! As always when in doubt follow the advice of our scam video and do your research! It’s easy, quick and effective. I should also note that this site and other legitimate work at home sites you visit have sponsors on them that fall into some of the companies I’m warning you against. Here’s the thing, the advice still applies.

    Say what?

Most websites are very much like TV Networks, newspapers & magazines. They all need sponsors to survive. Yes I need to pay bills & support my family as well. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that these companies & websites are vouching for the listed advertisers. So keep that in mind. Advertisers are a necessary part of business. It’s either that or charging you for the time spent writing articles like this. Personally I’d prefer if the advertisers pay. So don’t assume that a sponsor listed on this site is a personal recommendation and that you should ignore the rules of doing your due diligence. Because we all know what happens when we “ass”ume.

In any event, If you’ve been mislead or “scammed” by any data entry or typing websites, feel free to put them on blasts by listing your experience in the comments below. I’m sure it will help the people that are inevitably going to ignore everything I wrote above and ask me; Is so and so data entry or typing site legitimate?

P.S. I will be ignoring any of those questions because it will tell me that you’ve ignored or skimmed through this article. That’s just outright disrespectful and I know your momma raised you better than that. ;)

Happy Holidays All. I hope you’ve been spending quality time with your family. I definitely have. But I pulled away a little time to get some work done. So 2009 is quickly coming to an end. I would dare to say that is the year that everyone wants to forget. Obviously the economy had a great deal to do with this sentiment. While most folks were cutting back, scammers were hard at work if you can call it that! Apparently misery and despair is like Christmas for con artists. So in the spirit of letting go of the past and looking forward to a better new year, I’ve compiled a list of the top 5 work from home scams of 2009. There is a saying that goes the past often repeats itself. This is particularly true with scams. Con artists may change some of the bells and whistles but they tend to have the same patterns. So study this list so you avoid crap like it in 2010.

    1. Google Money Scams

This is basically a scam where shady marketers were misrepresenting affiliate marketing as some type of easy job with Google. Ridiculous promises of easy money working for Google, low shipping costs  with hidden exorbitant fees were also common with this scam. It caused a lot of uproar for Google because people assumed that Google was behind it. But eventually they couldn’t ignore all the bad publicity associated with the confusion and pulled such misleading ads and websites from their search engine. Later they delivered the final blow and sued some of the biggest names associated with this scam. But con artists are persistent bunch. They have already adapted and are playing on other known search engine’s such as Yahoo and Bing. So if you see some Bing work at home opportunity, chances are it’s probably the same misleading product and Microsoft has nothing to do with it. It’s like the saying goes, same crap different day. 2. Fake Newspaper Article Scams

This is pretty much the same scam described above but with a twist of lime. When folks started becoming wise to the scam artist’s nonsense, they had to adapt. Roaches do the same thing. So they created hundreds of fake news websites that featured so called news articles about working at home and how their shady Google work at home product was highly recommended.  Often times you would see the logos of legitimate news agencies on their website with the catch phrase as seen on… The thing is these companies were never featured on the actual news programs. Many times they just happen to be sponsors when those shows aired. And those so called news articles were all fake and simply very deceptive advertisements designed to hoodwink you into buying any of the garbage Google Make Money products. They’ve modified some of these fake news articles to promote some other work at home offer. But at the end of the day if they’re still using such deceptive practices to get you into their program, what does it really say about their opportunity? (Related articles: Fake News Sites)

    3. Check Cashing/Wire Transfer Scams

This is basically a variation of the Nigerian email scams. Con artists would basically post a fake job listing often time which was very elaborate and may even use a legitimate company’s name or job description.  Or they may search legitimate job site for resumes so they can find new victims . No matter how they packaged the job, eventually they would mention something about cashing a check or wiring money. Everything prior to that may sound as real as any job. But once the mention of cashing checks or wiring money is put into the equation all bets were off. Chances are you’re probably being set up for this scam.  Eventually the victim would cash the check and be told to keep a percentage of the money. Then they would be informed find by their bank that the check was fake and all their money was withdrawn from their personal accounts. Ouch! 4. Package Forwarding Scams

The scam artists are often lazy but clever. When they see something works, they adjust it to scam even more people.  Since the fake check scam worked so well, they modified the principle of a fake job listing. Instead of wiping your checking account clean, they’re using you so that they can get stolen consumer products to their homes.  Basically the scammers would post a job for a shipping assistant or something to that effect. Your so-called job was to receive consumer products open the contents, “ensure” everything was in order, then forward the package to another address which was a P.O. Box address. Next thing you know you’re getting a knock on your door from the postal inspector and being accused of theft or possession of stolen goods. Basically the scam artist has stolen someone’s credit card information. Then they’ve purchased a whole bunch of stuff with it. But instead of shipping it to their home where they’ll be caught. They send the product to you and have you ship it to a P.O. Box which is not traceable. They get a whole bunch of free stuff and you get hosed. Sometimes the scam artists will actually send you some money to do this. This leads you to believe that this “job” is legitimate. However it’s not. They can afford to send a few bucks your way because they’ll probably sell the stolen items for a great price to some unsuspecting customer. (Related articles: Package Forwarding)

    5. Forced Continuity /  Hidden Negative Option Scams

Most of the so called Google work at home opportunity employed the “marketing technique” I’m about to discuss. It worked so well that it spread to various other work at home related products. So how does it work? Basically you pay a small shipping fee for a given work at home kit, dvd, ebook, training or whatever. It’s can range from $1.99 – $4.99. It’s specifically designed to be insignificant so you feel you have nothing to really lose. When you fork over your credit card information, there is usually some terms and services that everyone ignores or fails to read completely. In that the sea of text is usually a line that basically signs your life away. Or at the very least it reads that you’ll be signed up for other nonsensical services that will probably be priced anywhere from $39.99 to $99.99 within 7 days. By the way, it’s not a full 7 days. They usually count the second you sign up as the first day. So $1.99 turns out to be 8 times that because you failed to read the fine print.

Honestly it’s a shady practice but a big reason that it works is because we fail to read things. So we’re a big part of the problem. I see it happen all the time on this blog. People ask me how can I find a work at home job. It’s a ridiculous question because there are links all over the site linking to a solution. I now ignore those comments because it’s clear folks aren’t reading and that’s a recipe for disaster.  On my site the most you may lose for failing to read is your feelings and some great ways to make money. Outside my site you may end up losing up to $100 bucks or more. So the lesson here is R.I.F. (Reading is fundamental) By the way some companies do very legitimate trial offers where they’re very clear as to what will happen after the period is over. They don’t bury it in the fine print. They’ll even email you a few days in advance to let you know you’re about to be charged the higher fee. That’s the way it should be done. These companies are confident enough in their products where they don’t feel they need to trick you into staying on. So keep this in mind. I don’t want everyone now thinking that all companies that charge these low trial fees are all scams. They’re not. (Related articles: Google Money Tree Scam)

At the end of the day let the past be the past. Don’t harp on all the mistakes or negative things that happened this past year. Instead, why not learn from them? If you were laid off from your job in 2009 then in 2010 work on getting some new career skills or starting your own business. If some jerk dumped you in 09, thank him or her. Now in 2010 find someone that will appreciate and love you the way you deserve. If someone you loved went to be with the Lord in 09, remember them in 2010 by appreciating every moment of life and spending more quality time with the loved ones that are still here. If you experienced any set backs, be thankful for them. Now you know what not to do in 2010. Take responsibility of your life. Don’t wait on “bailouts” or for someone else to improve your life. You control your life and what it can be. Don’t complain about things that didn’t work out. Pick yourself up, dust your shoulders off and keep coming back for more. You can never lose if you don’t give up on yourself. You have to be your biggest cheerleader. Don’t wait for affirmation or approval from others, motivate yourself because at the end of the day you’re in control!

The New Year is time for a fresh start. Actually every day is an opportunity for a new start. Keep that in mind in 2010. If you didn’t like how your life turned out this past year then don’t repeat the same steps! It’s that simple. Try something different that you didn’t do in 09. Otherwise you’re bound to repeat the past. See you in 2010. I believe it’s going to be your best year yet! But do you believe that?
